Halo Rings

A circle of small stones around the center, for more light and a bigger look.

What a halo does

A halo is a ring of small stones set tightly around the center stone. It catches light from every side and makes the whole top of the ring look larger. That is why a one carat stone in a halo reads like a much bigger one. The halo also protects the edge of the center stone from knocks.

Round, cushion, pear or oval

The halo follows the shape of the center stone. A round halo looks like a small flower, a cushion halo has the soft square outline of vintage rings, and a pear halo draws a drop on the finger. Our lozenge halos in yellow sapphire and green peridot take a more graphic, Art Deco line.

Hidden halo and double halo

On a hidden halo ring, the circle of stones sits under the center stone, invisible from above and revealed only from the side. It keeps the clean look of a solitaire with a secret sparkle. At the other extreme, a double halo adds a second row, in a contrasting color, as on our ruby-red and sapphire-blue cocktail rings.

Living with a halo

Small stones around the center need a little more care. Check them now and then by running a finger around the halo, and have a jeweler look at the ring if one feels loose. Clean it with warm soapy water and a soft toothbrush, which reaches between the stones better than a cloth. Take it off to wear gloves.
