Hoop and Huggie Earrings in 925 Silver
A hoop draws a full circle around the lobe. Ours start at a slim ring that grips the ear and go up to a wide one you notice from across a room, all in 925 silver. Some are plain, others carry moissanite, blue sapphire or green emerald.
A huggie is a hoop that got small
The word covers any hoop tight enough to sit against the lobe with no gap. It closes on a hinge that snaps shut, so nothing dangles and nothing snags on a pillow. That is why people keep huggie earrings in a second or third hole and leave them there for weeks. Big hoops are a different mood altogether. They swing, they frame the jaw, and they turn a plain shirt into an outfit.
The omega back, and why it matters
Two of our hoops close with an omega back, one set with blue sapphire, the other with green emerald. A post goes through the piercing and a small hinged lever folds down behind the ear to lock it. Fine jewelry uses this fitting for a reason. It holds a heavier stone flat against the lobe and it does not loosen through the evening, which a simple butterfly back can do.
Stones, finishes and a few odd ones
Moissanite runs through most of the range, in pavé along the outer edge or set as a single stone. A multicolored stone hoop mixes several natural colors on one ring. There is a two tone pair that puts gold plating and silver on the same hoop, a nail design that closes like a slim rivet, a snake that wraps its body around the ear, and an open circle that never quite meets itself.
Which size for which day
Small hoops disappear into a working day. Nobody at the office notices them, and that is the point. Save the big ones for the evening, when hair goes up and the whole ear shows. If you wear glasses all day, a huggie sits closer and stops the arm of the frame from knocking against the metal.
